Squeak

It seems "Jerry" wasn't meant to be a full grown mouse either. After spending the day trying to get him to drink water and enticing him with oatmeal and sunflower seeds--none of which he ingested wholeheartedly--he died during the night. He seemed sickly from the start and it wasn't a surprise.

I'm certain they were from the same litter. I suspect something happened to their mother and these two stumbled out of their nest in desperation.

I hesitate everytime I enter the garage. I have visions of a baby-mouse army that knows my weakness and proceeds to invade the house and eat all my oatmeal.

  1. When we lived in Colorado were advised to not handle mice, rodents or their droppings because of Hunta Virus and to use a face mask if we had to sweep any trace of dried urine as that is how the virus becomes airborne....

don't know if it is still a cause for concern for residents out west, here in the midwest not many have even heard of it.

  2. I did have my kids on a look-but-don't-touch lockdown. All mouse paraphalnalia has been disinfected in the Dishwasher and loaned to my neighbor who rescued a rabbit in her window well yesterday.

    We both need help.

  3. Have you had any run ins with black widows spiders?

We caught one in a our house in Parker in the garage, and after having any exterminator come out to spray, we found 12 more dead ones in the garage.

  4. No, not yet. Spiders don't bother me too much--though I know which ones to avoid!
